Lake Blue Ridge Wakesurfing: A Week of Fun on the Water

Lake Blue Ridge, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, may not be the largest or most well-known body of water in the state, but it does offer some of the most excellent wakesurfing conditions in all of North Georgia.

Let There Be Wind

We arrived at our cabin around 2pm after driving up from Atlanta. The drive was short but beautiful as we drove through the North Georgia mountains. When we arrived at Lake Blue Ridge, it was about 95 degrees outside with a storm in the making, which is perfect for wakesurfing, right?! Nope. As soon as we got out of the truck I knew that we were going to have an amazing week ahead of us. Day 1 started out with rough water due to the storm rolling in, but we didn’t let the wind stop us. After pulling up to our massive luxury cabin in Blue Ridge, we unloaded all our luggage into our rooms, and headed to the lake.

An Introduction to Wake Surfing

Ben and Chad joined us on the trip and this was their first time wakesurfing. The weather was much better on the second day and being a week day, it was a slower day on the water which made for some good surfing. We spent most of our time on the water at but also had a chance eat at the marina and enjoy a few drinks before heading back to the cabin rental.

We had an amazing crew with us for our week long adventure in Blue Ridge GA! Our friends from back home were able to join us as well. We also had many other friends join us who were visiting Georgia from out of state. It was such an incredible group of people that we got to spend our entire week with! Some seasoned wake surfers and others getting time behind the boat for the first time.

The Daily Grind

By the end of the week we still running strong (for old men) burning $5/gal. gas in the Axis. We head out to Blue Ridge for some lunch and a little wake surfing to kick off our final full day. It’s been a week of waking up early and getting through emails and checking in on work before hitting the lake; now it’s time to enjoy Lake Blue Ridge as much as possible before heading back home. The adults are getting worn down but the kids seem to have an endless amount of energy.

Goodbyes are Hard…

What a blast! A week’s worth of wakesurfing on Lake Blue Ridge and staying in an awesome cabin with breathtaking views of the mountains. We played hard during the day, and spent the evenings grilling out, relaxing in the hot tub, and playing in the game room. I highly recommend Blue Ridge GA as a vacation destination for those who love to wakesurf or just want to get away from it all. Escape to Blue Ridge GA and see what the All Decked Out cabin is all about. What an impressive mountain cabin near Lake Blue Ridge in the North Georgia mountains.

Home is Where the Heart Is

Overall it was an awesome trip. We loved Blue Ridge, but were looking forward to getting back home and falling into our normal routine. I think we both agree that being able to wake surf every day is one of life’s greatest joys. It’s a great way to spend time with your friends and family while enjoying some fresh air and beautiful scenery. I can’t wait for my next wakesurf adventure!
